Laying in the Eastern Reach, the city of Macau was an important trading depot serving both corporations and the Alpha Clan. As a result a large population of Alpha Clan citizens had settled in it.
When news reached Macau that the Zealots might attack the corporations quickly pulled out their ships and left the citizenry with little way to escape.
Tasked with protecting a corporate pipeline the 12th Battalion of the Alpha Clan defied orders and instead came to the city’s aid, many relatives of the Dragoons residing there. Working with Macau’s militia they managed to evacuate almost the entire population before the Zealots struck.
Though the city fell, the 12th Battalion shepherded the refugees southward, the Zealots hounding them. Exhausted and with the enemy closing in on the column the Dragoons made contact with White Horse and convinced them to ferry the civilians away.
Honorably, White Horse offered to evacuate the survivors of the 12th Battalion as well but the Dragoons refused and subsequently perished stalling the Zealots.
The Fall of Macau is heralded as the first time the Zealots brought two opposing forces together for a common purpose.
